Here's why...a couple of years ago,here on RP,(before youtube existed),we decided to pool together a lot of bangles and sue tv stuff/interviews/concerts etc.,things that had been taped from the TV over the years by fans,and concerts filmed by fans at gigs from the 80s and the re-union...just about anything. We then sent it in to a couple of RPers to assemble and do copies for those interested. Anyone could get copies of the resulting compilation video tapes for the cost of the raw materials and P&P,which was around 5 USD or so per tape,on condition that they not resell for profit.

Now on that site,the vast majority of stuff for sale consists of those compilation tapes at a hideous mark-up,29 USD for most things. Essentially somebody is making a big fat profit out of our hard work which we did altruistically,something we did for ourselves and for the good of other bangles fans who didn't have all the rare stuff,and something explicitly done not with the intent of profit. I could do what he's doing for a lousy five quid a tape. I'd do it for nothing for my friends. But this guy just wants a lot of your money. Git. "Collectors helping collectors" yeah right. And I'm Vicki with five new bangles albums all recorded and in stores tomorrow. Meh.
