Return Post was founded by Denise Whitfield (Banglebabe) on May 20th, 1999. Although the board was originally hosted on InsideTheWeb, that company eventually went belly-up and on May 9th, 2000, Return Post was moved to its present home at EZboard.
On April 19, 2002, Return Post was adopted by the Bangles as their official messageboard. The Bangles took over financial responsibilities for the board (previously funded by donations from RPers), and added it to their official website at www.thebangles.com.
In its first 21 months, Return Post logged over 21,700 posts - an astounding feat for a "new" board. Bangles fans of all ages from across the globe quickly found their way to RP - some had known each other from following the Bangles career in the 80s, some were new fans - and together they formed an incredibly vibrant and diverse community. Since then, Return Post has only gotten bigger and better, as more and more Banglesfans have been welcomed onto the board.
In addition to online friendships, RP has established itself as a true community - RPers travel to visit each other, regularly gather together at shows, and many out of town RPers have been able to rely on local members for assistance with everything from lodging to tickets to transportation. Return Posters have made shirts, hats, jackets, and of COURSE the Official Return Post Button to show their community spirit and support for the band. RP has also worked together on several occasions to put together surprises for the band members: Birthday cards have been sent from person to person around the world to allow Return Posters to sign them personally before they were given to the band. Return Post was also able to raise over $600 dollars to send letters and cards and what was reportedly the biggest bouquet of flowers ever delivered to the Bangles to celebrate their 2000 House of Blues reunion tour.
With a current lifetime total of over 2,000,000 hits, and with a monthly average of 3,500 posts and 115,000 hits, Return Post is in the highest rankings on EZboard.
The Bangles are very proud of the community at Return Post, and regularly visit the board (not that youd always know it!). Return Post has also been able to host live Bangles chats with Vicki, Debbi, and even Harpo (with more to come!), and other Camp Bangle VIPs, such as Producer Brad Wood and former bandmember and lifetime family friend Amanda Hill, have taken time to come to Return Post and share their experiences.
Welcome to Return Post - the home of the biggest, most informed, and most fun Bangles community on the internet!
