the 5th Bangle
i'm really excited about playing this summer--especially the Lillith shows! i know it'll be a great chance to meet some of the new female artists
"Gracie is a harsh mistress. We quail in fear at her every utterance. She asks us to stoop and we say "how low?" Gracie has taught me the true meaning of the word 'discipline.'"- Michael Steele
Wow--i wish i had Vox gear. Maybe i borrowed someone's, but i've been using Fender and Marshall amps for most of my playing life. i do have a cool Vox guitar (which i might be selling on Bangle Bay, hint, hint...)
i just wish that we could release out EP on CD. Still trying to wrangle the rights for that one...
i love Cleveland!! i had a great time the last time we were there.
i am really, really hoping that it'll be later this year, in the fall
Hmmmm....it depends on my mood, but i'm always happy when "In Your Room" comes along in the set. i'm warmed up and it's so fun to play. i hope that with the new cd we'll have a chance to get back to Europe, but nothing is booked right now. (except a London show in July!)
Yes! We actually have something on the new record that we used to play live....a long, long time ago.

Thanks for that, Matthew. i have the "Love Thing" Les Paul Custon that i still record with, but it's not allowed on the road anymore...!i love my Gretsch(s) too, though---and the Daisy Rock, which i've also used on the new record. Sue and i just bought these AMAZING 5 watt Swart amps and i am in love with mine.
i actually had a blast being "Vick Vicki side-chick" (as Jane called me). The music was refreshing and fun to play, and there was little responsibility for me except to show up and play!
Oh my God. Which one would play me???
We are actually, playing in July - I mean, October! - at the Royal Albert Hall--it's a breast cancer research fund-raiser and we are very excited! You heard it here first, kids!

i wish it didn't, but my environment seems to greatly influence my writing. Maybe it's more of an attitude, actually, 'cause i can write almost anywhere if i'm "open" to it, but i do best when i have solitude and less distractions. Meaning: it's hard to write at home!
Matthew is an amazing talent and we love him. He keeps things light and easy most of the time--he's not one for doing it over and over! He gets great sounds and has the best collection of odd and yummy gear you can imagine.
Abby is making music and doing her thing here in LA. i just saw her a couple of weeks ago...
Going Down To Liverpool
Yes, our roots are showing.
"Waiting for you ...baby"
i guess we've fallen into a comfort zone there. But it has changed since Micki left the band, actually. It's more of a "triangle" formation with Debbi at the apex.

Hello, I'm MikeyLaurence from South Australia, I hope you remember me from our last chat on Return Post. I write for a California based magazine called "Living Life...Boomer Style", although I work from home. I would like to share with you a link to an article I wrote for you a while back, for you to read at your own leisure of course. As Music Editor for the magazine, I am always happy to find ways to help support my favourite musicians, including your lovely self.
I can't wait for the new album by The Bangles, it's going to be awesome!
I do have two questions, firstly, I am wondering and hoping if The Bangles will return for a concert Down Under, particularly Adelaide, where I live.
Secondly, I have a wonderful friend named Rhae Ann Theriault who is a singer/dancer/actress (she's even worked with Bette Midler's troupe). She also works in animal rescue, and since you are a huge animal lover yourself, Vicki, I thought perhaps you might like to get in touch with her. Who knows, maybe she could become the new Bangle...now I just need to find out if she can play bass.
Thanks, Mikey--i'll check that out. Let's hear it for the animal rescuers out there. i was just telling a reporter today that our trips to Australia are among my favorite tours. i hope we'll be back soon ( maybe next year...?)
My fave Bangle song changes with my mood! Maybe "Hero Takes A Fall"??And....er....thanks!
Nice to see you chatting on here. I'm online from across the water in London (currently 7 hours ahead of you guys so its quite late)!! Just wondering if you have any plans to tour the UK again at any point soon. I saw you guys when you were here in 2008 and would love it if you paid us another visit. Saw you at the Sheffield concert ... yes, the one with all the sound difficulties ... but you guys put on a great show and rocked!!!!!
I know you all have families and that does make international travel quite difficult but there's a big Bangles following here and we hope the weather here won't put you off too much!
One other thing .... cast your mind back to 1994 when you came to the UK with the Go Gos .... saw you at a signing in Birmingham. Thanks for signing all my Banlges stuff .. still have it all to this very day!
All the best,Bal.
PS. Hugs to Su and Debbi too.
i love coming to London and will do so at the slightest nudge! We're coming in October with a "Pinktober" event so keep an eye out...

i love Austin! i wanted to come this year to SXSW (i had been asked to be part of the Alex Chilton tribute) but literally could not get a seat on a plane. Sigh...If i have anything to say about it, we'll be back there soon.

Hello Miss Sophie. Always nice to hear from you. i'm hoping you can buy "We Belong" on the Lowen and Navarro CD from the website...? It's a worthy cause, helping our friend Eric and his family...let us know if you can't get it for some reason.
Hmmmm....hard to say....eclectic?
Yes! We did something we've never done before, which is write a song together and record it on the spot! It's called "Analee"
You know i hope so! Meanwhile, see you on Twitter!
Thanks, Flo and Sophie---now go to sleep!!

i did not have a chance to speak with Yoko; i was contacted by her editor. But i did hear that she liked my piece, which you know made me happy!
Who knew, right? i'm actually really enjoying it. Y'all should follow me: VickiBangle. It's fun, and not as much of a time-suck as Facebook!
Is there any chance of The Bangles coming to Columbus (or anywhere in Ohio.) this year?
You know me---i want to get everywhere...
...thanks for the compliments on my graphics back in Cleveland... Thanks for Chatting, Vicki. P.S.: Courtney says HI! (She couldn't make it in for the chat.)
i know---she's in class, right?

Great question. Can't answer it though...it's a secret.
