On the day after the very close election protests erupted in almost every major American city.
Hillary had won the popular vote.
However the 45th presidency was decided by the Elect-College.
Somehow Trump won in enough small states to score an upset.
Polls before the vote reported Hillary ahead, but on the day of the 2016 Nov general election,
Trump did earn the 270 needed to win.
(Long time Capital Hill observers recalled how Al Gore got more votes nationally than G Bush,
and yet the Supreme Court and a Fla recount awarded the 43rd presidency to Bush in much the same manner).
At the White House President Obama greeted the president-elect with lots of polite gestures.
Obama quickly began the orderly transfer of power in a very professional and nonpolitical manner.
Hillary wearing purple as a symbolic nod to America's two party system, made a speech calling for people
to "keep an open mind and to give the new president a chance to govern".
Nevertheless huge protests broke out in many American towns.
A Trump spokesman said the Media was encouraging professional protesters to riot.
But the anti-Trump Marchers said at the demonstrations said that they were simply exercising their 1st amendment rights
to assembly and to free speech.
